My current blog: www.cheridreams.com is becoming cluttered with a mix of different types of media. In order to simplify my site, I created this vlog to display my personal and favorite videos on the net.

American Idol Finale
I voted for David Archuleta and was a bit discouraged by America's choice to vote for David Cook to win, but I know in my heart, Archuleta is still the better singer and this 2nd place win won't hurt him too bad ;)

Video Variety
Here are a few short movies, I thought you may enjoy.
For my 30th Birthday (seems like yesterday), Dave surprised me with a SkyDiving excursion. Now all I have left to do before I die is... Swim with the Dolphins, have a child and become FAMOUS by receiving an Oscar for my documentary film, titled "The Formative Years - Do they affect you as an adult?".
Anyway, enough about me...check out the video:
This movie definitely will not be giving me the fame, I so deserve, but it was a chance to experience the life of a movie star for one day. Check out this short trailer (edited by Dave) of me and Dave in Cloud9:
As I mentioned in my previous blog, I was very busy volunteering for Cinequest last week, but I did meet so many new and interesting people. One group of volunteers was video taping people walking by the San Jose Repertory Theatre and pointing to things to get people's reaction as they walked by. It was quite funny and harmless, and I could tell one girl in particular has a star quality about her. So, I asked for her YouTube username and noticed she has a new post with my YouTube username in it....check it out and feel free to subscribe at VRMonkey on YouTube
Which reminds me, I should probably promote my YouTube videos, as well. You can see my movies on the right hand-side of this page or Subscribe to my videos at

Cinequest 2008
I've been so busy with my regular day job and night time volunteering for Cinequest that I have not had any spare time to update any of my blogs. I finally found a few minutes to update this Vlog, as I wanted to promote Cinequest before it ends tomorrow. I've only seen two movies during the Festival and was not very happy about either. The first movie was a documentary about Les Paul and I found it informative, as most documentaries are, but it was slow and long and it took all the strength I could muster up not to fall asleep during the last part of the film. The second movie,
The Suburban Movie, was probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The acting was not believable and I found myself holding back laughter when the main character cried. It was all Dave and I could do, not to leave the theater. Although, it was a great learning experience and helped us feel inspired about creating our own film someday.
One movie I would have liked to have seen is The Art of Travel, but I've been working too much :( Although, I did get to meet some of the stars in the movie and the Producers. Here's the Trailer for the film:
Here are some pics from the festival:

Yesterday, Dave and I joined the Cinequest Maverick Spirit Event - A Conversation with Academy Award Winner Michael Arndt, who wrote Little Miss Sunshine and just wrote Toy Story 3, which will be out in June 2010. Here's an inspiring video from Michael's conversation:
Last but not least, the festival is not over yet...so, if you live local check out these films:
Glory Boy Days, which was filmed locally in San Jose by SJSU students, which shows tonight (03/08/08) at 10pm at the SJ Repertory Theatre (I'll be volunteering there tonight). Here's the trailer:
And Goodbye Baby which shows tomorrow (03/09/08) at 1pm at the Camera 12 Theater. Here's the trailer for this movie:
More updates to come...so keep coming back.

Movies - Juno and The Bucket List
When I am in the mood for a good movie, I really enjoy the good ol' fashioned love story (in one form or another) with a plot line that brings a tear or two to my eyes at one point or another during the film. The love is not always about male/female relationships, but love of a friendship, love of a child, love of a pet and sometimes even love of the world.
Juno is a "coming of age" movie, which partially sparked my interest, because this was the outcome of a first time screenwriter done good. Just like I felt about Good Will Hunting when it hit theaters a few years ago. Also, partially because of the underlying coming of age theme throughout it. I'd give it 5 stars out of 5. Check out the trailer and decide for yourself:
A teenage girl makes difficult decisions when faced with an unplanned pregnancy.
Another movie that could do no wrong is The Bucket List , starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. I would pay every cent in my pocket to anyone who could keep a straight face when Jack Nicholson's character kisses the "Most beautiful girl in the world". There are also two of the best actors in the world starring in this movie and Rob Reiner is the Director. Although, I'd have to give this a 4 1/2 out of 5, but only because I felt I'd seen this storyline a few too many times. Check out the movie trailer and you make the decision:
