A Finger, Two Dots Then Me

The video below is Trailer of 'A Finger, Two Dots Then Me', which was a simply beautiful spoken-word piece based on a popular poem by renowned modern poet Derrick Brown. The film takes a dramatic look at death, life and love through the eyes of Brown, a beat poet who has performed around the world for the last decade both as a headliner and with bands such as the Flaming Lips and the Cold War Kids. The short film won Best of the Fest at the San Jose Short Film Festival last weekend. Check it out:

Sophia Grace and Rosie

Sometime in September 2011, the  Internet collectively "awwwwed" at the cuteness overload that was 8-year-old Sophia Grace Brownlee and her 5-year-old cousin Rosie dressed like little princesses, singing Nicki Minaj's hit song "Super Bass."
The adorable British girls join the ranks of Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift who've covered the song, but Sophia Grace knocked both of them out the park with her rendition. Check it out:

RIP Steve Jobs

Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life's setbacks -- including death itself -- at the university's 114th Commencement on June 12, 2005.
Live every day as if it were your last and then some day you'll be right. ~H.H. "Breaker" Morant

After watching the Dying to Do Letterman Documentary, I was shocked to hear the star of the movie would be a guest speaker at TEDx in San Jose a couple weeks later. Steve Mazan is one of the most inspirational people I've ever met. After watching this encouraging, humorous and motivational speech by Steve Mazan, you'll see why:

Cinequest 21 - Favorite Movies

There were many magnificent highlights and experiences at this year's Cinequest 21! I watched many great movies and some not so great movies, but will only discuss a couple of my favorites. As I am a huge documentary buff, I was very pleasantly surprised by two wonderful documentaries, "I AM" and "Dying to Do Letterman". Take a look at the trailers for these movies and view their websites for possible showings in your area or to learn more about these spectacular, innovative and informative movies.
