Cinequest 2008

I've been so busy with my regular day job and night time volunteering for Cinequest that I have not had any spare time to update any of my blogs. I finally found a few minutes to update this Vlog, as I wanted to promote Cinequest before it ends tomorrow. I've only seen two movies during the Festival and was not very happy about either. The first movie was a documentary about Les Paul and I found it informative, as most documentaries are, but it was slow and long and it took all the strength I could muster up not to fall asleep during the last part of the film. The second movie,

The Suburban Movie, was probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The acting was not believable and I found myself holding back laughter when the main character cried. It was all Dave and I could do, not to leave the theater. Although, it was a great learning experience and helped us feel inspired about creating our own film someday.

One movie I would have liked to have seen is The Art of Travel, but I've been working too much :( Although, I did get to meet some of the stars in the movie and the Producers. Here's the Trailer for the film:

Here are some pics from the festival:

Yesterday, Dave and I joined the Cinequest Maverick Spirit Event - A Conversation with Academy Award Winner Michael Arndt, who wrote Little Miss Sunshine and just wrote Toy Story 3, which will be out in June 2010. Here's an inspiring video from Michael's conversation:

Last but not least, the festival is not over yet...so, if you live local check out these films:

Glory Boy Days, which was filmed locally in San Jose by SJSU students, which shows tonight (03/08/08) at 10pm at the SJ Repertory Theatre (I'll be volunteering there tonight). Here's the trailer:

And Goodbye Baby which shows tomorrow (03/09/08) at 1pm at the Camera 12 Theater. Here's the trailer for this movie:

More updates to come...so keep coming back.
